LETTER: Lack of override support discouraging in Attleboro
To the editor: I am disappointed, though not surprised, at the results of the on-line poll regarding the idea of a tax override in Attleboro. Those who are not willing to support a tax override to support the Attleboro public schools outnumber those of us who are by 2-1.
Although I am not a property owner in Attleboro, I am a registered voter and I would be willing to pay more rent to cover a tax increase if it meant that the Attleboro public schools would be able to recover from the brink of utter disaster. Attleboro is my home; how could I be so selfish as to damage the future of our community by being pennywise and pound foolish?
