SOFTBALL: Norton blanks Medfield
Top Headlines Eryn Dion and Kayla Crugnale combined pitching talents on mound for the shutout as the Lancers improved to 4-11 on the season. Dion allowed three hits and one walk over four innings, while striking out four. Crugnale allotted Medfield two hits through the final three frames, walking one. Casey Remick had two of Norton's nine hits. The Lancers are at Dover-Sherborn on Friday. New Bedford 5, Attleboro 1 ATTLEBORO - The Bombardiers of Attleboro High could muster merely four hits and dropped the non-league decision to New Bedford. Devin Azulay, the AHS pitcher, allowed eight hits, while striking out nine. The Bombardiers scored their lone run when Alyssa Paquette singled and scored on an Azulay ground ball. Attleboro (3-11) travels to Dartmouth Friday. Seekonk 9, Bourne 5 BOURNE - The Warriors raced to a 6-0 lead after 41/2 innings and held on for the South Coast Conference win. Lauren Medeiros blasted a two-run triple and Samantha Howarth followed with a two-run double as the Warriors erupted for four runs in the top of the fifth inning. Brianne Olette earned the pitching victory for Seekonk, surrendering just two runs through six innings. Medeiros and Kelsey Killian both had two hits toward Seekonk's total of 10. The Warriors (11-3, 10-3) now battle the best in the SCC, entertaining Apponequet today and unbeaten Dighton-Rehoboth Sunday at 1 p.m., both at the Cole St. Athletic Complex. Diman Voke 18, Tri-County 3 FALL RIVER - The Bengals used a seven-run explosion in the bottom of the second inning to defeat the Cougars in a Mayflower League game. Kate Pardini had an RBI double in the game for Tri-County with the team's other hit coming on a single by Kelsey White in the fourth inning. T-C (4-9, 3-6 league) will host Old Colony today.
