GIRLS TENNIS: Girczyc leads Attleboro
ATTLEBORO - "She tired her opponent out," related Attleboro High girls' tennis coach Lauren Jackson of junior Liz Girczyc, who overcame a one-set deficit to win the third set of her No. 2 singles matches for the decisive third team point as the Bombardiers nipped New Bedford, 3-2, Thursday.
"She's in such great shape, she gets everything back," added Jackson of Girczyc, who won the first five games of the third set. Meanwhile, Bombardier sophomore Samantha Wood, moved up from doubles play into the No. 3 singles spot, won her first career singles match in straight sets, losing just two games.
