SEEKONK - Selectmen are seeking volunteers to review the town charter and make recommendations.

There will be five members of the committee and there will be a six-month timetable for the committee to report its findings to the board.

Town Administrator Michael Carroll last week presented a list of guidelines to selectmen from the town of Easton's charter committee.

The responsibilities of the committee would be to obtain information regarding various models of government structure for Massachusetts communities similar in size to Seekonk, consult with organizations such as the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and review professional journals regarding analysis of various governmental structures in the state, and identify strengths and weaknesses in the current form of town government.
