ATTLEBORO - A Vietnamese pilgrimage day will be held at LaSalette Shrine, Route 118, on Saturday, July 26.
The day of prayer and praise will begin at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. The inspirational and colorful event will center on the love and devotion of the Vietnamese people for the Mother of the Lord as celebrated in their country of origin.

Bethany Night July 25 at LaSalette Shrine

Centenary Church plans service in the park
ATTLEBORO - Friends and members of Centenary United Methodist Church will hold a service of songs and praise at the Newell Shelter in Capron Park at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3.
Worshippers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a picnic lunch.
Pawtucket church plans Bible School
PAWTUCKET - The Congregational Church, located at 71 Park Place will be holding a Vacation Bible School on Wednesday, July 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. for children, ages 5-12.
The night will include games and the opportunity to try some "interesting delicacies," participate in a relay race and get involved with a community service project.

RI synagogue sets school registration
WOONSOCKET, R.I. - Congregation B'nai Israel is holding registration for the 2008-2009 religious school year.
The school program begins with a Sunday School Torah Tots program for children ages 5-7. The Hebrew School, for ages 8-12, meets Sundays and Thursdays.

games at St. Joseph's
ATTLEBORO - St. Joseph's Church will hold its annual festival on Friday, Aug. 8 and Saturday, Aug. 9.
The family event will take place at the church grounds, 208 South Main St. Clam cakes and chowder will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, and a full menu will be offered on Saturday.
Activities will include a Jumparoo, dunk tank and live bands.
First Baptist to bring
Bible stories to life
NORTH ATTLEBORO - To bring Bible stories to life and shed light on Jesus' last days, the First Baptist Church invites families to a "Jerusalem Marketplace. There is one session remaining: July 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the church's fellowship hall at 75 Park St.
Participants may bring a picnic super to eat on the common in front of the church at 5:30 p.m. Families and children are invited to join in songs, folk dancing, crafts, games and food that reflect family life in Bible times.
"We will focus on the last week of Jesus' life on earth, from Palm Sunday through the first Easter," said Rev. Robert Middleton, the church's pastor. "There will be small dramatic moments with people who saw and heard these events. The goal is to make the Bible stories become more real to the people who are attending." Vacation Bible School
FOXBORO - Bethany Congregational Church will be holding a Vacation Bible School Aug. 11-15 from 9 a.m. to noon. Children 3 and older, and those who will complete the fifth grade are welcome to attend.
The theme will be "Veggie Tales - the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything!" The school will run 9 a.m. to noon daily, and there also will be an evening version of the school. A family dinner will be served until 6:30 p.m. followed by two hours of Vacation Bible School.

Church to host
scrapbook sessions
NORTON - A scrapbooking fundraiser, "Divide and Conquer Your Photos," is taking place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 19 at Trinitarian Congregational Church at Pine and East Main streets. "Divide and Conquer" is a system to complete albums in seven three-hour sessions.
The program will replace the monthly TCC crop fundraiser for the summer. Spaces will be available for regular album-making for single-night sessions. The cost is $10 for the evening. is open at church
REHOBOTH - The Community Covenant Church, 615 Tremont St., announced that it has opened a new playground.
Families are invited to stop by and use the playground equipment and perhaps have a picnic. Children should have adult supervision.

REHOBOTH - The Rehoboth Congregational Church yard sale will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at the church at 139 Bay State Road.

'Clothes to Go' plans
to be open in summer
MANSFIELD - The Clothes to Go clothing pantry will be open all summer from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays. Clothes to Go has reached out to more than 1,000 people since opening last December.
Donations can be dropped off during pantry hours or left on the front porch daily by 3 p.m. If you're interested in volunteering at the pantry, call the church and leave a message. will start on July 28
REHOBOTH - Community Covenant Church's annual sports camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 28 to Aug. 1 for boys and girls ages 6-12.

Grace Baptist accepts
applications for year
ATTLEBORO - Grace Baptist Christian Academy of Attleboro is accepting student applications for the 2008-09 academic year, and will continue to do so through the summer months.
Pastor Jeffrey Bailey, the school's principal, said applications are being accepted for all grades, from its pre-kindergarten program through Grade 12. Applications can be obtained either by calling the school at 508-222-8675 or by mail to 1000 Oak Hill Avenue, Attleboro, MA 02703.
