Vote on planning board vacancy is pushed back

NORTON - A meeting to appoint a new planning board member was postponed Tuesday night because selectmen did not post that they were meeting, Town Planner Charles Gabriel said.

Selectmen had planned to attend Tuesday night's planning board meeting.

The two boards must vote together to fill the seat, which has been vacant since the April 29 annual town election.

The vote was rescheduled for Thursday night's selectmen's meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. at town hall.

The vote became necessary after a 4-4 tie on June 26.

The four planning board members present voted for one candidate. The four selectmen present voted for another.
