Attleboro business helps raise money for Energy Fund
Top Headlines Triple Play Car Wash and Quick Lube at 100 Washington Street is joining with the citywide initiative to offer $25 for each new ExxonMobil Mastercard approved. In return, approved applicants for the card will receive 30 cents per gallon discount on gasoline for 60 days and 15 cents off thereafter, along with other benefits. The Attleboro Energy Fund is sponsored by the Attleboro Council on Aging, the Attleboro public health nurse and outreach case manager, the St. Vincent DePaul Society and The Sun Chronicle. The fund assists on a one-time annual basis, community residents who are unable to meet high heating and fuel costs. A flyer describing the program went out to municipal employees last week said Council on Aging Director Madeleine McNeilly. The fund also plans to open up the program to the general public. Under the promotion, Triple Play will receive $25 each from ExxonMobil for each of the first 49 credit card applicants and $50 for 50 or more applicants. All proceeds will be donated to the Attleboro Energy Fund, McNeilly said. The Attleboro Energy Fund was officially launched in June by Mayor Kevin Dumas to help financially stressed residents meet escalating heating costs. McNeilly said the unique fundraising program offers motorists not only a chance to help keep families warm this winter but a way to help fight the high cost of fueling their autos. Applications can be obtained at TriplePlay Car Wash and Quick Lube or at the Attleboro Council on Aging.
