FOXBORO - Student and adult school lunches will cost 25 cents more this fall.
The increase will create a projected $31,827 revenue surplus next year, Martha Dooley, the district's director of food and nutrition services, told the school committee Monday night.
Expenses are expected to jump 3.6 percent, she said.
Dooley projects a $10,089 loss this year.
Elementary meals will cost $2, and middle school and high school meals will cost $2.25 this fall.
Dooley projected a $37,667 loss without the increase, which the school board approved Monday night.
Dooley has recommended no increase for the school year starting in September 2010.
She said she will study the lunch program's finances in the spring of 2011 and recommend pricing to the school board for the school year starting in September 2011.
The projections did not provide for major capital expenses, she said.
