ATTLEBORO - Two women and a man face assault charges related to a disturbance at a house on East Street early Thursday morning.
The suspects were arrested about 2:14 a.m. after their car was stopped with the help of off-duty police officer William Monterosso.
Jessica L. Pulkins, 19, of Abington, Jasin R. Webb, 20, of 383 Tremont St. in Taunton, and Crystal L. Cataloni, 21, of 53 Emory St. in Attleboro, pleaded innocent to assault and related charges in Taunton District Court.
Judge Gregory L. Phillips freed the suspects without bail, citing their lack of a criminal record and conflicting versions of what happened. He continued their cases to Sept. 29.
Webb, who was driving the car, was additionally charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Assistant District Attorney Mark Boivin said his breath-alcohol level registered 0.08 percent, which is the legal limit for intoxication.
The alleged victim, Brian Madsen of 39 East St., was allegedly punched, kicked and bitten and suffered bite marks on his back.
Brian Roman, a North Attleboro lawyer who represented Cataloni, said during a bail hearing that his client denied the allegations.
He said Madsen pushed his client and said the bite marks on Madsen's back appear to be old injuries. |
