REHOBOTH - Rallying from a halftime deficit, the Dighton-Rehoboth scored two, second-half goals to defeat South Coast Conference foe Fairhaven Tuesday, 2-1.
The win helps the Falcons improve their MIAA Tournament seedings as they finish the regular season at 10-4-2 in the SCC and 10-6-2 overall
Fairhaven scored in the seventh minute to take an early lead and the Falcons found themselves behind at halftime, knowing each win can make a huge difference in postseason seeding. So in the second half D-R rallied.
In the 54th minute Lindsey Doane scored an unassisted goal when she took a shot from the right side that found its way into the back corner of the net. Then Sam Silvia found the game winner off an assist from Suzie Newman, Newman dropping a pass behind her and Silvia firing a shot off the post and in from 30 yards out.
"We played clearly a much better second half than we did in the first," D-R coach Jeff White said.
Alyssa DiSilva, Sarah Kenny, Danielle Flores and Sarah Harris all played solid in the defensive backfield for D-R.
North Attleboro 1, King Philip 0NORTH ATTLEBORO - With the postseason out of reach for both Hockomock League teams, the Red Rocketeers at least finished up the season on a positive note, edging King Philip.
Breanne Dusel scored nine minutes into the game, unassisted, shooting from 25 yards out to give North a victory in its final game of the season. Play was even throughout, both teams mustering 10 shots, with Dusel's game-winner proving the difference.
Kelsey Viens made six saves on the day, including a stop of a KP breakaway late in the game.
"That really saved the game," North coach Geoff Burgess said.
Jill Haney played solid on defense for the Rocketeers, who ended their season with a 7-9-2 mark. King Philip ended the season 6-11-1.
